Technology Transfer Office Attends the Research and Innovation in Enterprises Event at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park

On 3 September 2026, representatives of the Technology Transfer Office – Director Dr Magdalena Kukowska-Kaszuba, and Innovation Broker Dr Katarzyna Przybylska – took part in a meeting entitled Research and Innovation in Enterprises, launching the second call for proposals under the European Funds for Pomerania regional programme for R&D projects with implementation potential.
The R&D activities eligible for submission under the call encompass innovative technologies, products, and services that enhance enterprises' strategic capacities for economic development and regional innovation growth, aligning with the Regional Research Agendas.
GMU is a partner in three Regional Research Agendas: Smart and Green Sea Technologies, Offshore and Port Logistics Technologies, and CyberSec Pomerania.
A key aspect of the call is the opportunity to establish partnerships and foster cooperation between academia and industry. This enhances the efficiency of commercialising R&D results, including the technological solutions available in the University's portfolio. Mapping research and technological potential, identifying the mutual needs of science-industry partnerships, and creating an environment conducive to generating innovation and bringing it to market represent central areas of activity undertaken by the GMU Technology Transfer Office as part of the "Science4Business – Nauka dla Biznesu" project.
The capacity of enterprises to innovate and their focus on new technologies are fundamental to the economy and serve as a driving force for regional and national competitiveness. The University acts as a natural partner in delivering the research agenda and securing intellectual property rights, thereby enhancing the global contribution of Polish creative thought.
The event for businesses and research organisations was organised by the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia, with representatives of the Pomerania Development Agency attending as special guests.
The main theme of the meeting was the funding allocation rules for research and development projects aimed at Pomeranian enterprises and research organisations. The event brought together regional business representatives, public administration officials, and members of the academic community interested in strengthening science-business ties, building industry-academic consortia, and creating new products, technologies, and services to boost the competitiveness of the region and the country.
Following the meeting, individual consultations and advisory sessions on applying for support under the new call were provided for both company representatives and planned science-industry consortia. The event served as a platform for exchanging experiences, sharing best practices and ideas, and discussing regional innovation.
