Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for educational services associated with full-time degree programmes taught in Polish are not charged to: 

  1. a non-national who is a citizen of an EU Member State, the Swiss Confederation, or a Member State of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, or a member of their family, residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland; 
  2. a non-national who has been granted a permanent residence permit or an EU long-term residence permit; 
  3. a non-national who has been granted a temporary residence permit in connection with the circumstances referred to in Article 159(1) or Article 186(1)(3) or (4) of the Act of 12 December 2013 on Foreigners (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 35); 
  4. a non-national who holds refugee status granted in the Republic of Poland or enjoys temporary protection or subsidiary protection in the territory of the Republic of Poland; 
  5. a non-national who holds a certificate confirming knowledge of Polish as a foreign language, as referred to in Article 11a(2) of the Act of 7 October 1999 on the Polish Language (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 672), at a language proficiency level of at least C1; 
  6. a holder of the Polish Charter (Karta Polaka) or a person issued with a decision confirming Polish origin; 
  7. a non-national who is the spouse, ascendant, or descendant of a citizen of the Republic of Poland; 
  8. a non-national who has been granted a temporary residence permit in connection with the circumstances referred to in Article 151(1) or Article 151b(1) of the Act of 12 December 2013 on Foreigners, or residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland in connection with the use of short-term mobility as a researcher under the conditions specified in Article 156b(1) of the Act, or holding a national visa for the purpose of conducting scientific research or development work. 

A non-national may be exempt from fees for full-time degree programmes conducted in Polish or in a foreign language, and for repeating classes in full-time degree programmes due to unsatisfactory academic performance, under the rules laid down in an inter-university agreement or an international agreement. Exemption of a non-national from these fees may also take place on the basis of: 

  1. an administrative decision of the Rector; 
  2. a decision of the Minister or a decision of the Director of NAWA in relation to its scholarship holders.
